About Me

Dr. Anissa Jones earned her Bachelor’s degree, from National University, she specialized in Business Administration. After graduating from college, she worked in the banking industry, as a bank teller for a number of financial institutions. She used her training, customer service background and exceptional organizational skills and advanced to an Operations Officer. Dr. Jones held the position of Assistant Branch Manager at Washington Mutual Bank prior to transitioning to the field of education. It was during that time she came to a crossroads and realized what she longed to do was teach. Dr. Jones went on to earn her Master’s in Education from National University in La Jolla, California. She has always had a passion for learning and developing her expertise, and with that in mind Dr. Jones graduated in 2009 from the University of La Verne with a Doctorate degree in Education, with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership. 

Dr. Jones has three young children, Nevaeh (which is heaven spelled backwards), Christopher and Nicholas. 2015 marks her 16th year in the field of education. Her educational background includes service as 7th & 8th grade mathematics teacher and 7th grade life science teacher, an AVID Instructor, Academic Pentathlon Coach, Mathematics Intervention and Tutoring Program Coordinator, Curriculum Development & Strategic Planning Committee Member, Mathematics Department Chair and Master Teacher. Dr. Jones thrives on designing and delivering engaging lessons that not only challenge students but also inspire them to become lifelong learners and critical thinkers. She is a firm believer that, teaching others offers an opportunity for continual learning and growth and hopes to instill a life-long love of learning in her students, as she shares her own passion for learning with them. She has confidence in each and every child and recognizes that every student has the potential to bring something unique and extraordinary to the world.
